March 17, 2016
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We now have received application forms for the 2016 UAW Region 9 – Thomas M. Fricano Scholarship Fund for all UAW eligible high school graduates and current college students. Please contact the hall for more information regarding eligibility and all other additional criteria. If you wish to obtain an application, please come down to your union hall to pick one up. Deadline for returning applications is July 8th, 2016.
Please note that our next membership meeting will be held Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 due to the Easter Holiday falling on the Sunday of our scheduled March’s meeting. We encourage all members to attend this important meeting. We will have guest speakers attending our meeting from the law firm of Pond, Lehocky, Stern, and Giordano. They will be discussing topics of importance on worker’s compensation, rights of injured workers, and social security disability. Again please attend this meeting to fully understand what your rights and options are concerning these issues.
On March 5th 2016 the Communications Committee put together and sponsored our 1st “Corn hole” (baggo) Tournament at our Union Hall. It turned out to be a great time and a complete success thanks to the hard work from the committee, especially from Matt Rogers and Jason Bonacquisti who worked hard to set this up and worked very hard during the entire day of the event. We want to thank all who attended and donated to this fund raiser. We also would like to recognize the following participants:
1st Place – Steve Gregg / John McSorley 2nd Place – Matt Rogers/Anthony Fenza
3rd Place – Ryan Duke / Mike Morrissey 4th Place – John Mozzani Jr/Kyle Matthews
5th Place – Joe Anthony / Pat Jennings
Thanks again to all the participants, contributors, and spectators for making this event a huge success. The next tournament is now in the planning stages. We will keep you informed when the next date is scheduled.
