UAW Local 1069 Veterans Committee Chili Cook-Off

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Veterans Committee is excited to announce that we will be holding our first chili cook-off on November 12th at the Union Hall. Doors open at 11am. All proceeds will go to the Walk for the Wounded. 90 cents of every dollar donated to Operation First Response is donated directly to a Veteran and their family. If you would like to be a contestant please contact Kieran Kelly (610-772-6615), John Schwartz, or Ryan Kerrigan. The entry fee will be $20 per team with prizes for first, second, and third place. We suggest making your chili at home and we will have tables set up for you to keep your chili warm in a crock pot during the event. The cost is $15 per person and children under 10 are FREE! Tickets will be available to purchase at the door. That $15 will get you a ticket for the door prizes and a ballot to vote for your 3 favorite chilies.
Over the past several weeks through the hard work of the committee we have been able to add many great raffle and door prizes. We will also have a magician and balloon animals for the kids from 11:30-1:30. Local 1069 Brother John Scafide will be there with his delicious homemade gelato available as well. We will have some “tailgate games” set up in the parking lot if weather permits.
We are very excited for what is shaping up to be an amazing day and an opportunity for our Brothers and Sisters to get together and share in some solidarity outside of the plant.
