Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We wish to thank our Communications Committee for another successful “Baggo” tournament which was held at our Union Hall this past Saturday. We thank all who attended and participated. The much-needed funds will be used to continue renovation projects on our Union Hall. Congratulations go out to the following winners of this competition:
1st Place – Joe and Anthony Yanuzzi
2nd Place – Bill Tobin and Mike Morrisey
3rd Place – Derek Rodgers and Chris Fagan
We look forward to more “Baggo” events in the future and hope to get more participation from our Brothers and Sisters from our plant. I would like nothing more than post winning contestants in future Choppers who actually are members from our local.
Also, The Women’s Committee will be sponsoring 2 events at our Union Hall this month of March. Our annual “Easter Egg Hunt” will be held this Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Pictures will be taken with the Easter Bunny in addition to the Easter egg hunt. Please plan to attend and bring the kids. It promises to be a great time for all. The Women’s Committee will also sponsor “Designer Bag Bingo” Saturday, March 24th 2018 beginning at 2:00pm. Tickets for this event will be $30.00 in advance, $35.00 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to all of our Brothers and Sisters who are currently on lay-off status. Please plan to attend and show support for our members presently on the street. For more information on these upcoming events please contact the following committee members:
Karla Hold (South Side), Debbie Blake (South Side), Allyce Collins (South Side), Sami Guererri (North Side), Kelly Walker (North Side).
The information for the Tom Fricano Scholarship is now available. Please see your shop steward for the information or contact the hall. It is also available on the Region 9 website region9.uaw.org. The deadline to turn in the application is July 6, 2018.
Lastly, I would just like to remind our Brothers and Sisters to continue to request our Inspectors to look at your work. This is a must to have a second set of eyes to thoroughly look at the jobs you perform. I remind all Inspectors to thoroughly inspect all jobs you are tasked to review. The lives of the men and women who fly on our aircraft depend on our workforce. Your livelihood at The Boeing Company also is dependent on your performance.
Yours in solidarity,

Michael A Tolassi, President
