June 19, 2019
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Your UAW leadership proudly welcomed United States Senator Robert P. Casey at our union hall on Monday afternoon, June 17, 2019 for a “greet and chat.” During his visit, he gave us a copy of a letter that was signed by many U.S. Senators from many states. It was sent out to members of the Armed Services Committee and members of Defense Appropriations Committee. Their letter expresses the Senators’ concern about the U.S. Army’s decision to halt procurement of the CH-47 F-Model Chinook helicopter beyond Fiscal Year 2020. They asked these committees to review the Army’s budget request for 2020 and beyond, to ensure steady funding for the CH-47F Block II program, which is necessary to maintain our warfighters’ battlefield advantage. Much thanks to Bob Casey for taking time to come see us at our hall and show his support for this critical program.
We wish to inform our UAW Local 1069 members that our Communications Committee along with Leonetti Promos have developed a UAW on-line store for our sisters and brothers who wish to order UAW apparel and additional items with our logo. As of now, our first 2 designs of UAW T-shirts are available for order which will close out this Friday, June 21. 2019. You can visit www.uaw1069.logoshop.com to place your orders. You can pay online or give your cash order to your shop stewards, committeeman or bring it to the hall. Shirts come in nine (9) different colors. Prices are $10.00 (small – XL), $12.00 (2XL), and $14.00 (3XL – 4XL). Look for additional items and apparel on this site in the near future.
Effective July 12, 2019 there will be a quarterly Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) in the amount of $0.20. The current maximum COLA amount for this unit is $0.57.
Lastly, we cannot stress enough to continue to provide our men and women who proudly serve our country with the highest quality aircraft we build here at our Ridley Park facility. Always continue to check all work while performing your tasks and also when your job is completed. Insist on getting an inspector to look at your completed jobs. A second set of eyes is paramount, due to the nature of the work we perform.
A reminder to our quality folks to assure you inspect all work submitted thoroughly and continue to “catch” any and all defects prior to delivery to our customers. We want to maintain the highest quality product, continue to keep all programs in our facility, and always lobby for additional, future work.

In Solidarity,
Michael Tolassi
President
