UAW Local 1069

May 24, 2021
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Starting today, May 24th, fully vaccinated persons at most Boeing U.S. sites, which includes Philadelphia/Ridley Park, will no longer be required to wear face coverings or physically distance while outdoors as long as they register their vaccine status on Worklife. Registration will open today and employees will have an initial two-week grace period to complete this process. The Company will continue to evaluate the new CDC guidelines concerning indoor requirements regarding face coverings. We do expect to receive updates as additional changes become available.
In addition, our Veterans Committee, chaired by Gary Stein along with additional members of the Boeing Veteran Engagement Team (BVET) will hold a “COVID-19 Compliant Ceremony” this Thursday, May 27th from 11:30 am – 11:45 am. The ceremony will take place at the South Side POW/MIA Memorial in front of the 4-10 Security Office/Gate 1S. Please make every effort to attend. “Reflecting on the sacrifices of the brave and the fallen, we remember them and the families they left behind in our Memorial Day Ceremony.”
Also, some encouraging news. After years of urging and persistence by your UAW Local 1069 Leadership and our Local 1069 workforce, the “Rotobin” process will be put back in place. This will immediately start beginning on the Alt Line (CH-47) with one station that will service nine positions. There will also be multiple stations that will service the F-Line. All stations on these lines should be fully implemented and up and running by the end of this year. Our Material Support represented employees will have the responsibilities of ordering all hardware for these stations as well as stocking and maintaining these rotobins. We have much more work to do as we continue our fight to bring back much more work and jobs back to UAW Local 1069.
Lastly, we continue to remind our Sisters and Brothers of their “Weingarten Rights.” Please take the time to review the cards we have sent to every member. If you do not have this card, request one from your UAW Representative. In essence, ALWAYS request Union representation when participating in meetings and/or investigations with Company representatives. In addition to this, I highly suggest when speaking with any Company representative, which includes your managers, to have your Steward or Committeeman present to witness these conversations. We do realize some employees have not been seeking representation during meetings. Please help us to help you. We have your backs. Do not count on managers having your backs.

In Solidarity,

Michael Tolassi
