Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I’m sure everyone has heard that the State Department has approved the potential sale of Chinooks to Germany. Germany announced its intent to purchase 60 CH-47 heavy lift helicopters and now all we need is for them to sign the contract. This will be a huge boost to our skyline in the future. Your Bargaining Committee is continually meeting with the Company on the status of the Germany deal and to bring whatever work in, to hold us over until then. When we hear we will certainly inform the Membership.
I would like to thank the Brothers and Sisters who showed their solidarity and came down to the hall Tuesday May 9th and voted for the Committee on the North and South sides to complete our General Elections. Congratulations to the Northside Committee: Rich Brown, Christine Cocker, Vince Marvel and Gary Pizzuto. Congratulations to the Southside Committee: Mark Colangelo, Jimmy Rugh, Steve Tobin and Dave Siegman. I know they will give each and every one the representation that you deserve. Thank you again for all your support for the Lyons Team.
This week we will be having elections for Shop Stewards. Our Brothers and Sisters who are running will be having their elections on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 and Thursday, May 25, 2023. Please see the posting for dates, times and locations. I hope you will give them the same support. Congratulations go out to the members who ran unopposed and good luck to our other Brothers and Sisters in their elections.
We’re working on getting letters together to send to our/your local politicians for their help in getting support for our V-22 and Ch-47 programs. What I would like to do is have everyone of our members sign these letters and we will either personally deliver them to their offices or mail them to let them know that their constituents need their help now. They have no problem asking for our support during election time. Now they need to come through for us!
A reminder our monthly General Membership meeting schedule this month has been combined with June’s meeting due to the Memorial Day holiday. Our next meeting will be Sunday June 4, 2023, at 10:00 am. All are encouraged to attend.
