Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Company has approached the Union looking for a contractual change to eliminate
LOU # 2 Employee Involvement Program. All 5 employees would be returning back to their base job classifications.
For this change your Bargaining Committee was able to negotiate with the Company.
1) Protect 6 Shop Stewards positions. The Company wanted to go down to 10 Stewards from the current 19, per Article 5, Sec. 2a, page 19.
2) The Company will pay the current Financial Secretary/Benefits Representative.
This will save the Union approximately $450,000 in dues money.
3) The Company will pay the Unions designated Employee Assistance Person (EAP) 20hrs a week, continuing to provide assistance to our employees.
On January 30, 2024 the Membership will be asked to vote on this contractual change. This vote is required by the UAW Constitution. The Union Hall will be open from 5am to 5pm to vote. A full copy of this proposal will be posted on all Union information boards.
