Brothers and Sisters,
We would like to thank all Boeing employees, especially our UAW brothers and sisters who engaged in the “Watch Us Fly Chinook Block II” call to action. So far, this campaign has generated more than 5,000 letters to congressional members which also included our local representatives from PA, NJ, and DE. I also maintain communication with the political folks who were endorsed by this local during their run for office, to insist they continue our fight for this very important program.
In addition, I strongly urge ALL of our UAW Local 1069 brothers and sisters to please contribute (voluntarily) to the UAW’s V-CAP check-off program. Our UAW members can help elect pro-worker candidates by contributing and supporting V-CAP. This money will be used to support pro-worker political candidates who have earned the endorsement of the UAW. We need to continue to remain politically active because our ability to make progress for our members at the negotiating table is tied to our ability to elect pro-labor candidates to office. One of the most effective ways to ensure that all working Americans are represented in politics is to assure that pro-worker candidates are elected and held accountable. The V-CAP check off language in our CBA allows us to contribute directly from our paychecks (monthly), to decide how much to contribute, and to make the contribution adjustments at any time. Please see your union representative or contact your Union Hall to sign up for the V-Cap check off program.
Lastly, the current quarterly adjustment (COLA) amount for this unit is $-0.06. The current maximum COLA amount for this unit is $0.37.
Please attend our membership meeting this Sunday, March 24, 2019 @ 10:00 AM
