Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On Friday, October 13, 2023, we will be receiving a $0.13 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) bringing us to a total year-to-date of $0.37. Also, Effective Friday, October 13, 2023, we will be receiving a 5% Lump Sum. Since we are still waiting for the Company to print the Contract Books, here is the language; Lump Sums will be granted for employees on the active payroll and in the Bargaining Unit, including those on an approved Leave of Absence for (90) days or less on such dates specified below as follows:

Effective October 13, 2023, employees will receive a five percent (5%) lump sum. Lump sums will be calculated based on an employee’s pure base rate (plus shift differential and lead pay if applicable) in effect on October 13, 2023, multiplied by 2080. The lump sum payment will be paid within thirty (30) calendar days of October 13, 2023, and will be eligible for deferral under The Boeing Company 401(k) Retirement Plan (the “401(k) Plan”) in accordance with Section 2.d. of Article XVII of this Agreement.

Lump Sums 2023 and 2025 An Employee who receives a lump sum in accordance with Section 3.b.2 and/or 3.b.4 of Article XI (Rates of Pay), payable within thirty (30) days of October 13, 2023, and/or October 13, 2025, will have the right to timely defer up to 100% (in whole percentage increments) of any such lump sum into the Plan. Such deferral election(s) will not be eligible for Company matching contributions nor Special Company Retirement Contributions. Further, the deferral election(s) will be subject to IRS and Boeing 401(k) Plan contributions limits and pursuant to procedures established by the Plan Administrator of the Plan.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This past Friday, our bargaining committee and I had the privilege of hosting Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon and her District Director, Lauren Cox, at the Union Hall. During our meeting, we engaged in a thoughtful discussion about our current programs and our envisioned future. We respectfully requested Congresswoman Scanlon to advocate for increased allocations of V-22s, CC-RAM Aircraft, and support for the CH-47 Block II program to her fellow Representatives in Washington. We also urged her to facilitate a dialogue with the Company to explore additional work opportunities in order sustain our workforce until these programs regain their momentum.

Following our meeting, our Committee and I had the pleasure of guiding Rep. Scanlon and her District Director on a tour of our Southside programs. Their visit allowed them to interact with several of our members, leaving them deeply impressed by the V-22, CC-RAM, and CH-47 union work force. Despite her busy schedule, Rep. Scanlon expressed her commitment to returning for a tour of the Northside.

In our ongoing efforts to address our concerns, we have been in contact with the offices of Senator Casey and Senator Fetterman. A tentative arrangement has been made for Senator Fetterman’s office to visit our facility in early October.

On Friday, October 27, 2023, Local 1069 will be holding its 12th Annual Charity Golf Outing at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Delaware. This year, we will be raising funds for the Objective Zero Foundation, whose mission is to prevent suicides in the Military Community. As in past outings, it should be a day of fun with your co-workers. Currently there are 21 foursomes signed up. I’d recommend signing up ASAP before the event is full. If you can’t make it and would like to donate a sponsorship for a hole, a raffle prize, or just to the foundation, see one of the following people or contact the Union Hall: Matt Rogers (Matthew.W.Rogers@boeing.com), Mike Tolassi (Michael.A.Tolassi2@boeing.com), or Steve “Spoons” Gregg (Steve.M.Gregg@boeing.com).

Veterans Day falls on November 11, 2023. This year, our Veterans Committee will be offering t-shirts for pre-order only. Shop Stewards have distributed order forms, and all orders must be submitted no later than Monday, October 9, 2023.

A friendly reminder: we are resuming our monthly General Membership Meetings this month. Your attendance is strongly encouraged. The first meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM. It would be greatly appreciated if you are able to attend.

As always, we deeply appreciate your continued support!
