Brothers and Sisters
I would like to take time to thank everyone that worked so hard to make the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) a success. Over the last 6 months 225 of our members took advantage of this opportunity. As some of you know Vice President Wayne Schmidt recently retired during the most recent opportunity. I would like to thank Wayne and all of our members that have recently retired for their years of service and dedication to the membership of Local 1069. Based on the success of the VSP and members taking on new positions, the Company has notified us there will be no need for any further layoffs for the remainder of 2015. We are continuing to work hard trying to acquire new work for our UAW local 1069 members.
With the Retirement of Wayne Schmidt, I am temporally assigning Mike Tolassi to the Vice President position, Tom Lyons to the Shop Chairman’s position and Mark “Duke” Colangelo to the Committeeman South position . Nominations will be held on October 25, 2015 at the Union hall. Dates for the election will be November 10, 2015, if needed.
REMINDER
- Bonus and GWI will be in your October 29th. Checks, GWI will be retroactive back to October 9th.
- In Solidarity with our local labor unions continue to BOYCOTT Royal Farms as they continue to snub our brothers and sister by bringing in out of state SCABS to build future projects.
