Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Below is a communication The Boeing Company will or by now has sent out to all UAW employees:
“The Company and the UAW have been working together to offer current members of the UAW an opportunity to develop their skills in the area of Composite Fabrication due to rising demand for that skill set. This opportunity is an individual decision to develop your skills to be considered qualified for future Composite Fabricator (15C08) job classification openings.
This training opportunity will be offered to all members of the UAW who have not previously or currently hold the Composite Fabricator job classification. Interested employees will be given the opportunity to attend Composite Fabrication training on their own time. Those interested in being trained to gain the composite’s skill set will be required to attend and successfully complete the Composite Training class. The class will be held for 5 consecutive weeks and are scheduled to occur on Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a total of 50 hours of training. Once an employee has successfully completed the training class they will receive a Certificate of Completion and be considered qualified for future openings in the Composite Fabricator (15C08) job classification. The first Composite Training class will begin on Monday, February 18, 2019.”

We encourage all UAW 1069 employees who are seriously interested to sign up for this training opportunity regardless of your present work shift and current situation. Employees will be selected in seniority order.
We will meet with the company prior to the start of the training class to work out all final details in regards to this training opportunity. Should you have any questions or concerns please see your Union Representative or call us at the Union Hall.

Lastly, the company will also send out a communication to all employees titled “Speak up about the Importance of Block II”. We greatly encourage ALL Boeing employees to engage by “clicking” on the provided link within this communication. By doing so this will automatically generate a letter that will be sent to Congress, U.S. Senators, and Representatives in your state and Congressional district.
