November 15, 2019
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Many thanks and much respect go out to Karla Hold (Material Support Bld. 3-61) and Mark Miller (Material Support Bld. 3-25 Dock) for their participation this past Tuesday in our election held here at your union hall for the position of Member-at-Large on the Executive Board. This showed dedication on the part of these two loyal UAW members wanting to become part of our leadership team. Also, we were very pleased with the terrific turnout for this election which proved to us that our members care and remain united.
Congratulations to Karla Hold for being voted into this position on the board. “Hats off” to both of these members for getting involved and enduring this tightly contested race.
In addition, we wish to once again thank Pat Hoffmann and the rest of the Community Service Committee for braving the cold weather on Thursday, November 7th and Friday, November 8th participating in our annual Thanksgiving gate collection. A total of $4313.00 was collected at our gates, which shows an improvement from last year’s total. Contributions from these donations will go out to our members, who unfortunately are out on an extended medical leave of absence. Many thanks to all employees who generously gave at our gates to help our Brothers and Sisters in their time of need.
Lastly, a couple of reminders to our members:
Our Women’s Committee and Community Service Committee will be hosting our annual UAW Local 1069 Toy Drive on Saturday, December 7, 2019, between the hours of 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Santa will be there to greet our children and many snacks will be provided. Please attend this event and socialize with your co-workers, friends, and families. This event has always proved to be a great time for all.
We will be accepting unwrapped toys at this event. If you are unable to attend please bring your toy donations down to our hall or contact someone from the Women’s Committee or an E.I. Facilitator and give them your donations. These toys will go out to underprivileged children in our communities.
Lastly, please make note that the November 24, 2019, and December 22, 2019, General Membership Meeting was changed/combined due to the Thanksgiving Holiday and Christmas Holidays and will be held Sunday, December 8, 2019, @ 10:00 AM. Please plan to attend. I am certain many of you wish to address your leadership team with questions and concerns.

In Solidarity,

Michael Tolassi
President
