Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Boeing Philadelphia and Delaware County Community College Workforce Development has entered into a partnership offering a course titled “Introduction to Sheet Metal and Assembly” (PDS 8710) to any internal employee interested. This class will be held at the DCCC campus located at 901 S. Media Line Rd. Media Pa. 19063. Class dates for this course are scheduled for February 25, 2020 to July 2, 2020. This course will consist of 19 weeks/150 hours of classroom and lab instruction. There will be a 10 student enrollment minimum to hold a class, 15 maximum class size. The days for attendance will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings 4PM – 8PM. All current Boeing employees are eligible and this course is fully funded through the Learning Together Program (providing LTP guidelines are met and satisfied). Any employee interested in enrolling please access “Workday,” generate the voucher for an individual course on the LTP site and email it to: serrano@collegiateconsortium.org. This information will also be available on “Between the Blades.” After all internal employees have been exhausted, this course will then be offered to non-Boeing employees wishing to attend. Cost for these folks will be $3,999.00.

Also, your UAW Leadership worked very hard to get a signed “Grievance Resolution” regarding the use of contracting of janitorial services. The Boeing Company will discontinue the use of LWC Janitorial Services effective 2/15/20. Moving forward, The Company agrees that prior to sub-contracting janitorial services, we will meet and confer regarding reasons and business concerns for any future sub-contracting of janitorial work. Your UAW Leadership will have the opportunity to present alternatives to The Company’s proposal to sub-contract janitorial work in the future.

Lastly, a strong reminder to please attend our membership meeting this Sunday, January 26, 2020 @10AM. We will discuss many important topics and address any concerns you may have. We look forward to seeing all of you at our hall.

In Solidarity,
Mike Tolassi
President
