Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Many thanks to our Sisters and Brothers who took time out of their day to come vote on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, authorizing a strike, if necessary. Once again, our members demonstrated tremendous support for our Local approving this necessary action. We received an outstanding 98.9% approval, giving your Bargaining Committee the “go-ahead.” We are well prepared and look forward to starting negotiations with Boeing Leadership on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Again, thank you for your continued solidarity.
Also, our UAW International President, Ray Curry, would like to thank our members for an unforgettable visit to our factory on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. This visit was a first. No other UAW President has ever toured our facility. He was absolutely thrilled by the gathering of members who greeted and spoke with him throughout the day. Ray, along with the entire UAW Aerospace Committee offers Local 1069 their full support in our upcoming contract talks with The Boeing Company.
Lastly, we are still waiting for final details regarding the Aircraft Technician Training Opportunity from The Company. Once all information is finalized and received, we will pass this on to our members.
Reminders: Please realize that The Company has many cameras set-up throughout the interior and exterior of this facility. Be aware.
Also, assure that your address on file with The Boeing Company is corrected and updated. We will start sending out “Strike Duty” cards to your homes within the next few weeks.
Always Remain UAW Local 1069 Strong

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Our UAW International President, Ray Curry, wishes to share his regards and message to UAW Local 1069:
“With the upcoming negotiations between Local 1069 and The Boeing Company, I wanted to extend to the Region and the Local Bargaining Committee the full support of the UAW Aerospace Department. If there is anything that the Aerospace Department can do to support your negotiations with The Boeing Company, please do not hesitate to reach out to them.”
In addition, tomorrow, Wednesday August 10, 2022, our UAW International President, Ray Curry, will be visiting our plant. He will be accompanied by our UAW Region 9 Director, Jeff Binz, along with our Region 9 Assistant Director, Lauren Farrell. We are anticipating their arrival on the Southside to be approximately 10:00 AM. Please come out and greet our guests as they tour our facility. We ask that our Sisters and Brothers wear red in show of solidarity. Their visit is in support of our upcoming contract negotiations and to see the great work that we do for the men and women who proudly serve our country.
Also, we anticipate having our next General Membership Meeting on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Please plan to attend.
Lastly, The Company has received close to 150 applicants for the Aircraft Technician “training opportunity.” We are assured The Company will reach out prior to the start date of these classes. We will also communicate information regarding this training.

Notice For Strike Authorization
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, we will hold a necessary “Strike Authorization” vote at the Union Hall from 5:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. We strongly recommend to ALL members to show solidarity and come vote.
Members of your Bargaining Committee will be at the hall for the duration of the voting process. We will assist you, answer questions, and address any concerns you may have regarding any matter.
We expect that our membership will demonstrate unity by showing a strong turnout and vote overwhelmingly in approval of a Strike Authorization. We want The Company to hear our message loud and clear. We deserve a favorable and fair contract that meets the needs of every member.
To become entitled to receive strike allowances such as pay and medical benefits from our UAW International, this vote must take place. In any event, if a strike is necessary, our members MUST consent to a strike to receive any strike assistance allowed from our International.
Please recognize a quality economic package is especially important to our members. Appreciate we are prepared to bargain for many additional, essential issues such as increased labor grades, work rule changes, increased retirement income, medical benefits, promotion language changes, lay-off language adjustments, cost-of-living continuance with yearly “fold-ins,” increased holidays, sick leave and vacation accrual, loan language modifications, and most importantly, that we remain a UAW Local 1069 workforce that continues to produce the finest aircraft in the world.
Please note, there was a change voted in last week by all Delegates at the UAW National Convention. The $400.00 weekly strike pay, in addition to medical benefits, will now begin on day 1 in the event we are forced to call a strike.
Lastly, we did receive well over 1200 order forms for the T-Shirts we are offering to our members. We anticipate they will arrive sometime in mid-August. We hope you will wear these USA-made shirts proudly in support of our contract negotiations.
Always Stay UAW Local 1069 Strong
