Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Veterans Committee is gearing up for a very busy April. We have scheduled our gate collection for The Walk for the Wounded for March 31 & April 1, April 14 & 15. We are always looking for help to man the gates and make the most out of this opportunity as we can. The support for this event over the past several years has been nothing short of outstanding and we greatly appreciate everyone who helps out and donates to this great cause. The people from Operation First Response have also been fantastic with setting up a great event every year. I encourage you to come out on May 14th at Rose Tree Park in Media, PA and check it out. They have a ton of displays, live music, and of course there is the walk and 5k. Operation First Response donates 90 cents of every dollar made directly to Veterans and their needs.
We are also excited to announce that we are sponsoring another BINGO night at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday April 15th. This is a great night and the men and women at the Veterans Home are always so grateful and excited to see us.
If you are interested in volunteering for either event please contact Kieran Kelly, Ryan Kerrigan, or John Schwartz and we can make sure that you are added. As always thank you for all the support and showing our fighting men and women that they are appreciated.
HOME OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!
In Solidarity,
Kieran P. Kelly, Chairman

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This past November 2015 your Bargaining Committee and the Boeing Company agreed to use a new metric for the Philadelphia Performance Incentive Program which took effect January 2016. Our past metric used here in Ridley Park for cost was based on the company’s LRBP (Long Range Business Plan). Your UAW leadership along with site management felt confident with establishing a new metric for cost, CPI (Cost Performance Index). This plan has a potential of up to 20 days payout each year. This plan is measured from three basic elements: Cost, Quality, and Safety. Our target for this plan is 10 days, again with a potential 20 day pay out:
Safety (target 1day) – 5% improvement of lost work day case rate.
Quality (target 3 days) – 5% annual improvement of manufacturing caused rework.
Cost (CPI, target 6 days) – meeting CPI target of .98 pays 6 days.
CPI is measured between the cost of work performed and the actual cost. The reality for implementation of the CPI metric is the better we perform in the factory, the greater of a payout we receive. CPI will be widely tracked, communicated, and better understood by all employees in all shops. This will be communicated daily by managers, EI facilitators, and displayed on all Plasma screens throughout the factory. CPI will be directly influenced by employee’s performance. Any questions or concerns with this new metric, please discuss with your EI facilitators at your meetings, contact your committeeman, speak with your managers, or contact us at your Union Hall.
Thanks to the hard work of your bargaining committee working closely with managers in the Delivery Center four (4) Flight Test Crew Chiefs and three (3) Flight Test Mechanic “A” s have been recalled back from within the plant effective February 8, 2016. We will continue to work daily with The Boeing Company until all employees on lay-off status are back working in our factory. Great job to all involved with making this happen.
A reminder to all members that our Communications Committee has put together our first ever “Cornhole” tournament which will be held at the UAW Local 1069 union hall Saturday, March 5, 2016 beginning at 10:00 AM. Flyers have been distributed throughout the shops detailing all of the particulars. If you have not done so already sign-up for this event. Teams are starting to assemble and spots are filling fast. This event promises to be a great time and gives our members an opportunity to get together outside of the workplace.
